MICA License
(Crypto-Asset Service Provider Authorization)
Companies intending to provide crypto-related services within the European Union may be required to obtain authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA).
MiCA introduces a harmonised regulatory framework across the EU for businesses offering services related to crypto-assets. Companies that fall within the scope of the regulation must obtain a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) license from the relevant national regulator before offering services to clients within the European Economic Area (EEA).
For companies operating from Cyprus, the competent authority responsible for authorisation and supervision is the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC).
